It was an honor for me to serve as the Chief Guest for the Milan 2023 Inclusive Sports Day, organized by Vidyasagar and three other schools at the Madras School of Economics. Vidyasagar has been dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities for many decades.
The event was a visual feast as students with and without disabilities participated together in sporting activities. The non-disabled students reported that it was a valuable learning experience and a wonderful opportunity.
Sport has the remarkable ability to bring joy and smiles to the faces of players, regardless of their background.
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to meet Poonam Natarajan Akka, the founder of Vidyasagar School, as well as my friends Smitha Sadasivan and Ummul, teachers, volunteers, and supporters.
I must also extend a special recognition to Coach Hari for his tireless efforts in ensuring the smooth operation of the event.
