Hearty thanks to our apartment association for providing approval to install the lift ! Though it took a while for me to convince them, finally they provided approval to install the lift at my cost and responsibility.
Such inclusive common facilities must be made available at all the residential complexes to make the life comfortable for elderly people and persons with disabilities.
Supportive legal provisions anyway exist. Now, the need of the hour, is strict enforcement of those rules and awareness among buyers of flats/houses in residential complexes. In the absence of these, it ends up becoming an effort intensive and expensive affair to make our surroundings and facilities inclusive to all.
